What is Software?

Software- are programs that make a computer run

Two types of Computer Software:

System Software- programs that work automatically once you open or boot your computer

Application Software- programs that are installed in the computer

System Software:

Examples of Operating System - run in the background w/out users being aware of it.

Application Software:

Examples of Application Software - enable the user to do different tasks
